Process Applications and Online Engineering Consultants

We offer: Technical, Marketing and/or Business Development Consultancy, especially for startup and spinoff companies, especially those in the environmental sector, the water industry or process industries (from chemicals and oil/gas to pharmaceuticals and drug discovery). We also work with charities and pressure groups (and can offer a discount sometimes).

Typically clients include researchers and others with a "good idea" trying to commercialise ideas or IPR, where their parent organisations dont have the core competencies or interest in commercialisation. Sometimes these are ideas or IPR that companies dont see as core business. This also includes companies wishing to diversify existing products into new markets, and those wishing to develop new products.

Our core business is focused on marrying technology and science with business economics, but we cover everything via a variety of contracts.

In the last couple of years we have advised individuals and companies from Environmentalists to Water Companies (and will give the first aardvark-keeper and zoologist a discount)!

We regularly work with the university sector, commercialising new ideas and taking them to the marketplace. We can advise on commercial viability, route to market partners, target sectors or market size, elasticity and entry barriers. We also work with companies wishing to diversify or otherwise develope new markets for existing products. (Ansoff has a lot to answer for!).

Our main focus is on business development, in particular for the process industries (including Pharmaceuticals & Drug Discovery, Food and Drink, Chemicals, Energy and Water), but we have an interest in developing all types of businesses using or proposing to use innovative technologies, especially for measurement or control applications.

Recent contracts include business planning for a high tech start up business, and work with graduate IT startups.

Expertise in applying for and using funding mechanisms include sucessful EU 5th framework (CRAFT) and ERDF bids. These can reduce the cost of work undertaken significantly, or be used to fund research on your behalf. Past international collaborations include SME-University and large company-University links.
